Meet the Governors
|Name||Position||Term of Office End Date|
|Acting Chair||3rd May 2021|
I joined the governing body in May 2017. My educational experience consists of eight years as a Headteacher and forty years in education. Since retiring in 2013, I have worked as an educational consultant within mainstream and special schools.
I have 10 years’ experience of being a proud member of The Chalet School Governing Body. Over this time, the governing body has responded and met a range of challenges that has enabled the school to grow from strength to strength. The responsibilities of governance cannot be under-estimated; however the accountability comes with a great deal of satisfaction in knowing that you can make a real difference to the lives of the children and families that we serve.
|Associate Member||12th June 2021|
I thoroughly enjoy working at The Chalet School. Working with our children is a privilege and, as much as they learn from us, we learn from them. I champion enrichment and like taking the children to competitions and activities locally and some more further afield. I feel that, as part of the Governing Body, you play an important role in shaping the education and opportunities for our children. I have taught in both primary and secondary mainstream schools, which only strengthened my desire to work with more children with Special Educational Needs.
|Gemma Neighbour||Parent Governor||23rd February 2022|
I have recently been elected as parent governor and my Son started at Chalet in reception in September 2017. I have been a police officer for ten years and have particular experience in safeguarding of the vulnerable, including children. I want to advocate for the parent community to ensure our wishes and concerns are considered.
|Sachin Kotalwar||Co-opted Governor||12th March 2022|
Working as senior architect in private sector, I have an interest in education and future of special needs teaching as every child deserves all support needed to achieve best of their capabilities.
|Pragati Gupta||Co-opted Governor||29th September 2023|
My name is Pragati Gupta. I am delighted to be appointed as a Co-opted Governor at The Chalet School in September 2019. I am working as a Teaching Assistant at Moredon Primary and Nursery School. I have worked as an exam invigilator in different schools in Swindon and as a Teaching Assistant on a voluntary basis. I love working with children, watching them grow and learn and I hope my contribution helps to support them.
|Tracey Gibson||Staff Governor||TBC|
I have been a Teaching Assistant at the Chalet School for 6 years, it’s a job I thoroughly enjoy. I became a Staff Governor to further support me to give the best to the pupils in our care and help them grow and thrive.
